Plan a shoot

Good work, badly photographed, loses to worse work shot well.

Buyers judge the craft by the photo

A £30,000 kitchen fit-out photographed on a phone in bad light reads as a £3,000 one. The quality of the work is invisible until the quality of the image lets it through.

Stock photography fools nobody

The moment a visitor recognises a stock image, everything around it gets discounted too. Generic photography does not just fail to help, it actively signals that there was nothing real to show.

Content gets made without a plan

A shoot happens, files land in a folder, and six weeks later nobody has cut them for anything. Assets with no destination are a cost, not an investment.

Nothing is shot for more than one place

Footage framed only for landscape does not work on a phone. Shooting for a single output means paying for the crew, the travel and the setup again next time.

Content produced against a destination.

Content is the fuel every other service runs on. Paid campaigns need creative to test. Landing pages need proof a buyer can see. Search needs images and video that make a page worth ranking. Social needs a reason to stop scrolling. Produce the content without a plan for those destinations and you have a folder of nice files.

So we plan backwards. Before anything is shot we decide what each asset is for: which page it lands on, which campaign it feeds, which objection it answers. A shoot day then has a shot list rather than a vibe, and every setup is framed for more than one output, so the same moment gives you a landscape hero for the site, a vertical cut for social and a still for the ads.

Drone is part of that, not a novelty. Aerial footage does one thing genuinely well: it shows scale and context that no ground-level camera can. A finished roof, a site the week before and the week after, a venue in its landscape, a campervan on a road that explains what owning one is actually for. Used with a reason it is the most persuasive twenty seconds on the page. Used because it is available, it is a drone shot for the sake of a drone shot.

This is the same approach that fed the RGS Carpentry rebuild, where a system for capturing every finished job turned each completed project into the marketing for the next one.

What we shoot.

Photography

The stills that carry your website, your listings and your ads.

  • Finished work and installations, on location
  • Product photography for ecommerce and catalogue
  • Team and founder portraits that do not look like ID badges
  • Premises, workshop and behind the scenes
  • Before and after pairs, framed and lit to match
  • Google Business Profile imagery, sized correctly

Video

Motion for the places where a still cannot do the work.

  • Brand films for the homepage and the pitch
  • Short-form vertical for Reels, TikTok and Shorts
  • Paid social creative, cut in variants for testing
  • Customer and testimonial interviews
  • Process and how-it-is-made sequences
  • Product demonstration and walkthrough

Drone and aerial

Scale and context, where they earn their place.

  • Site and project progress from the air
  • Property, land and development overviews
  • Venue and location establishing shots
  • Roofing, solar and exterior inspection footage
  • Reveal and approach sequences for brand film
  • Aerial stills for hero images and listings

Plan, shoot, cut, deploy.

The order matters. Most content underperforms because the deploy step was never planned, so it got decided after the shoot rather than before it.

1

Plan against destinations

We list what each asset is for before booking a day: the page it lands on, the campaign it feeds, the objection it answers. That list becomes the shot list.

2

Shoot for multiple outputs

Every setup is framed for more than one crop, so one moment gives you the landscape hero, the vertical social cut and the still for paid, without a second shoot.

3

Cut to format

Edits are delivered per destination, correctly sized and captioned, not as one master file you are left to crop yourself.

4

Deploy and measure

Assets go live on the pages and campaigns they were made for, and we watch which ones actually hold attention so the next shoot list is informed rather than guessed.

Files you can actually use.

A shot list before the day

Agreed in advance and tied to destinations, so you know exactly what you are getting and nothing important gets missed while the crew is on site.

Edited stills, retouched

Colour graded and consistent, exported web-optimised and print-ready, named sensibly rather than dumped as camera filenames.

Video cut per format

Landscape for the site, vertical for social, and short variants for paid testing. Captioned, because most social video is watched with the sound off.

Aerial footage and stills

Where drone genuinely adds scale or context, delivered graded and cut alongside the ground footage rather than as a separate novelty reel.

Full usage rights

You own the output and can use it anywhere, indefinitely. No per-use licensing and no coming back to us for permission to run your own ads.

Deployed, not just delivered

We put the assets live on the pages and campaigns they were planned for. A delivery folder is a handover, not a result.

What you should expect.

Work that photographs as well as it actually is, so the price stops being a shock
A library with a destination for every asset instead of an unused folder
Creative variety for paid campaigns, which is what testing actually needs
Vertical video that was framed for vertical, not cropped down to it and ruined
Aerial footage used where it shows something, not for the sake of it
One shoot day feeding the website, the ads, social and search for months

Before you ask.

Is drone work legal for commercial use in the UK?

Yes, with the right permissions, and they are not optional. Commercial drone work in the UK requires CAA operator registration and a qualified remote pilot, plus appropriate insurance, and flights near airports, over crowds or in restricted airspace need specific authorisation. We do not put a drone up without those in place, and we will tell you up front if a location cannot legally be flown rather than finding out on the day.

Do we need video, or are photos enough?

It depends on what is stalling the sale. If buyers cannot picture the finished result, photography usually solves it more cheaply. If the hesitation is about process, scale or trust in you personally, video does work that stills cannot. Most projects want both, and shooting them on the same day is considerably cheaper than booking twice.

How long until we have the files?

Edited stills typically come back within a week of the shoot. Video depends on the cut: short social edits usually run one to two weeks, a full brand film longer because it needs a proper edit, grade and sound pass. You get the timeline before the shoot, not after it.

Do we own the footage?

Yes, outright and indefinitely, including the raw files on request. You can run it in ads, hand it to another agency, or use it in five years without asking us. We do not do per-use licensing, and we think agencies that hold your own footage hostage are telling you something about how they work.

What does content creation cost?

It scales with days on site, crew size and edit complexity. A half day of photography at one location is a very different number from a multi-location shoot with aerial work and a full brand film. We scope it against what the assets are actually for, so you are not paying for a production that outruns the job it needs to do.

What does a content creation agency do?

It plans, produces and deploys the photography, video and written assets a business needs across its website, advertising, social channels and search listings. The planning and the deployment are the parts that separate a useful agency from an expensive one: producing content is straightforward, producing it against a specific destination and then actually putting it live is where the return comes from.
